Maryam Scholarship

I often talk about the concept of the village and how particularly in the West we’re losing that communal support system for new families. In the work that I do I’d like to give families some of that support back. 

To make my services more accessible to all types of families I created the Maryam scholarship. Maryam/Mary the mother of Isa/Jesus is a powerful figure for birth and motherhood around the world, there’s an entire chapter named after her in the Quran which talks about her birth experience and this is the chapter you’ll often hear recited or playing in the birthing rooms of Muslim families.
 

The Maryam scholarship is designed to offer educational birth support to low income and single parent households. Once a month a family will be offered a free online intensive version of the Newborns For Newbies baby care course or hypnobirthing.
